WCSGA - 2023 Membership Meetings

 

Watters Creek Senior Golf Association

September 21, 2023: 1.30 PM

 

Present:

John Leal: President and Vice-President/Tournament Director

Doug Coulson: Secretary

Rob Schoppe: Director

Approximately 65 members

 

The President called the meeting to order at approximately 1.30 pm.

 

• John Leal thanked course staff for their support and presented Carol Davis with a gift card for her individual effort. John also thanked Tony Sanchez for running the CTP/HIO competition and presented him with a dozen balls.

 

• Robert Schoppe covered for Tom Thorpe and reported that our financial position remained sound, with ~$5000 in the General Fund after expenses for the championship and luncheon. The Hole in One fund remained at ~$2000.

 

• John Leal presented the "Most Birdies" award to Scott Munse, with a dozen balls to be provided by Watters Creeks GC.
• John Leal raffled 3 gift cards to attending members.

 

• Doug Coulson announced "Low Gross" winner Jack Whitling, with a monogrammed golf bag to be provided by Watters Creek GC.
• Doug Coulson announced flight winners for Championship and 2nd Chance tournaments
• Doug Coulson announced CTP winners for both days

 

• Doug Coulson provided an overview of the WCSGA Golf Genius portal content and functionality.

 

• John Leal reminded everyone of the focus on slow play and need to continue achieving completion of all tournaments in 4-1/2 hours to stay in compliance with course requirement to allow weekly shotgun tournaments.

 

• No officer terms expire in 2023 so there was no vote.

 

The meeting closed at approximately 2.30 pm.
